Combating addiction and explaining risks of the drug: one-day seminar held at MIoHE A one-day seminar was held at the seminar room of the Mili Institute of Higher Education about combating addiction and the risks of the drug. A great number of lecturers, students, and administrative staff of the Institution participated in this one-day seminar which was organized by the Faculty of Curative Medicine. Dr. Zabihullah Haris, the academic vice-chancellor of Mili Institute of Higher Education, considered the seminar very effective for everyone particularly, for the students of Curative Medicine. He added that in the last few decades, drugs remained a serious threat to the young Afghan generation. He praised the efforts of the current government regarding the treatment and management of drug addicts in the center of Afghanistan. Later, the head of the Professional Development Center (PDC), Dr. Bashir Ahmed Mowahid spoke on the occasion and he generally explained the main types of addiction from which the society is suffering. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Hikmatullah Saleh, the lecturer of the faculty of curative medicine discussed drug addiction comprehensively. Dr. Saleh emphasized that drug addiction is a hidden disaster that does not seem very harmful at the beginning, but it destroys the life of a person and a complete family in a short period of time. He also explained the symptoms of an addicted person, the chemical composition of drugs, and the diseases and deficiencies that occur in human beings as a result of the use of these chemicals and substances.
